About Us

I started showing Dobermanns back in the late 1960's in both conformation and obedience (failing the latter badly).  receiving lots of mentoring from Larry and Camile Mojzis (Meliora prefix) continuing till well after I went into minis. I got my first two miniature schnauzers from Val Miller of Bruson Kennels which were Trasea breeding in the early 1970's and from then on I was hooked. I received a lot of assistance and mentoring from Val Miller (Bruson Kennels ) and Helen Sims (Jaydon minis).

Netti Hobbs (along with Angus her grandson) of Koobalies Kennels and I formed a partnership and then we were off all over the countryside in Netti's Range Rover and caravan. The first of our imports came from the UK namely Ch Rimmick Rikardo (all American breeding) and a bitch named Ch Arbey Dyna-Mite (Cookie) who came in whelp with seven puppies born in quarantine. Our greatest joy was being offered Simon our beautiful American/Australian  BIS/BISS Champion Simon Says of Hansenhaus (imp USA) (sire of 18 champions) who was a Specialty and All Breeds Best in Show winner and the first uncropped American Champion to come to Australia and only the second uncropped American Champion in the USA and was bred and prepared by Carole Hanson of Hansenhaus Kennels and handled expertly by Maripi Woolridge. Simon was followed by Fifth Ave Flirt of Hansenhaus and Rodeo Drive Romeo of Hansehaus and other dogs of Hansenhaus breeding via Hi-Crest Kennels. My last Hansenhaus import being American Ch Best Regards of Hansenhaus  a.k.a." Bushy "who was uncropped and arrived in late 2002 who has several champion get to his name.

I imported the first Canadian imports into Australia after seeing American/Canadian Ch Minuteman Eleventh Hour ROM strut his stuff at the Californian Specialty Show and was impressed with his movement and breed type. The first Canadian import here was a Canadian Best in Group winning mini was Canadian Ch Minuteman Toy Boat Toy Boat a.k.a. Miss Vicky (who passed away on 8/2/2008) and the first uncropped Canadian Ch Minuteman All My Rowdy Friends (sire of 12 champions and passed away on the 4/2/2008). I received mentoring from Kate McMillan of Minuteman Kennels who helped me so much, her breed knowledge seems endless.

In addition to the Minuteman imports I also had loan of two of Kate's  special dogs.  American/Can Ch Minuteman Hide the Cat  a.k.a. "Spike"(who returned to Canada leaving 14 Australia/New Zealand champions) and Canadian Champion Minuteman 100 Rifles a.k.a. "Posse"  (still counting champions) Posse quickly attained his American title upon returning to Kate.  Canadian/Australian Ch Minuteman To The Batmobile (Robin) so far is the only titled black mini imported here finished his Canadian title with Best in Group and Puppy in Show along with other group and in show wins prior to coming to Australia. Robin along with many champion progeny has sired two grand champions, one being Grand Champion BIS/BISS Schonhardt For My Ego  who was the first and only mini to date in NSW go All Breeds Best in Show whilst making up his grand championship title since 2000 ( with the largest BIS entry to date) plus Specialty wins, also the first and still the only black Grand Champion Besten Caped Cruisader ( multiple Best in Show winner) and with more to come.

My black and silvers are not forgotten with a dog bred in partnership with Netti Ch Koobalies Son of Errol  (Sean)  was  only defeated once whilst being campaigned to multiple Best in Shows. Now to keep my black and silver campaign going Tracy Hiuser  and Donna Garner of Meinkismah Minis in Canada we are going forward with some new imports.
